Subject: Postcard from Portland

Dear Family and Friends,

Can't believe it's already time for the June Picayune Tribune!

May commenced with a visit from cousin Ken Fox, who flew in from
Ketchum, Idaho. He arrived Friday, May 3rd and stayed with us for the
weekend. We feasted Friday at Zefiros, a trendy restaurant in NW
Portland where Ken had dined many times in the past. It was the first
time Liz and I had enjoyed their fare. It was quite a treat - thanks,
Ken! As it is want to do whenever we have out-of-town guests, the
weather was woeful. But nonetheless we enjoyed each others company,
good coffee, wine and other fine dining - as well as window shopping in
NW Portland. The weekend whisked by and all-too-soon it was Monday...
time to say our farewells and commute to the office.

Liz and I both had extremely busy schedules at work in May. Liz did a
lot of travel to fill in for absent therapists. She's seen as much of
Molalla as she cares to :-( ADP has two versions of their product that
are being launched concurrently. This has kept me hopping.

Since Liz and I are both fascinated by the weather - as well as being
Helen Hunt fans, we went to see Twister. It was thin on plot and
implausible in places, but was exciting to watch and had some terrific
computerized special effects.

And while we're on the subject of weather (you *knew* I'd be getting
around to it sooner or later), May was the wettest month on record for
Oregon (see stats below). Even the web-footed natives were
complaining!

I have finally started searching in earnest for a Ford Explorer to
replace my Porsche. Unfortunately, the exact XLT Liz and I want does
not exist anywhere in Oregon, Washington or Idaho. I'll be contacting a
broker to see if he can help. Otherwise, we'll order it and wait the 8
to 12 weeks it will take for it to arrive from the factory.

That's about all there is to report on this month. Liz and I will be
heading to California in two weeks to spend Father's Day with her
family. They just returned from a week in Maui, where they had a
wonderful time relaxing in the sun and snorkling. Liz's mom didn't get
in as much shopping as she would have liked, but did find time to send
us some *wonderful* coffee (which is brewing as I type this).

Until next month, we wish you all the blessings of good health enriched
by the love of family and friends.

we love you all,
Sandy & Liz
